I had a thought the other day and asked myself, is Instagram actually taking over what people really enjoy or have a genuine passion for?

There are people on Instagram that look like they are living the most perfect lives because of the content and beautiful images and sometimes they forget what's really behind these images - probably just a normal ordinary life. People only show their best parts to their life and the best side of their faces for it only to be seen in a 2 second scroll on Instagram.

There are people that post pictures in their brand new gym wear set they bought (maybe just for Instagram) but in reality they probably don't go to the gym 4 times a week and just wanted to show their best part of the week. When others see pictures like these they need to remind themselves that people only show heir best parts and shouldn't be the reason to lacking self-confidence or to not post on Instagram because you don't feel your post is good enough.

The term 'do it for the gram' seems like a jokey thing to say in the moment but then when you think about it, are you really living certain moments in your life just so they can be posted o n the internet, not because you want to enjoy them in real life. That sort of thing scares me a little bit.

Social media can be a bit a of scary place because there's far too much room for comparison and is taking the valuable moments out of life as there is so much pressure to upload and also to upload the right things.
