Is retail failing?

Many huge retailers are seeing a decrease in instore sales as the ability to online shop is taking over. One in every five pound is now being spent online with many retailers.

Being a frequent online shopper myself I understand how easy it is to sit and home and shop from your bed which is one of the main reasons most people do it - it's quicker. I think its going to take a lot for the value of retail to come back and make people actually want to come out of their houses to shop.

Big brands such as House of Fraser and Debenhams are planning to shut down nearly half of their stores due to not doing aswell as they've once done.

I think its sad that this time in 10 years we wont have half the shops we do now and scared that everything will be online. Although it's handy, there's no experience.
