Dot to Dot is an annual, metropolitan festival based in Nottingham, Bristol and Manchester. The festival's main target consumer is one that listens to indie music. Dot to Dot hosts many indie music performers at many local venues within these cities.
Firstly we did a bit of visual research into the indie music consumer to see what kind of aesthetic and interests they were into. We then took inspiration from other festivals such as Kendall Calling and Glastonbury festival.
To create our poster, our group used a variety of colours and illustrations that we felt matched the festival's aesthetics. The landmarks were an important choice as it represents and highlights getting to know the city as well as appreciating the music.

Our outcome was placing retro ticket machines around the cities that gave out coupons/tickets that contained discounts with local businesses for example in Nottingham it could be 10% off a record at Rough Trade or a free donut from Doughnotts. We thought our consumer would engage with this as the type of person that comes to an indie music festival would like exploring and a good freebie here and there.
